Vision Network districts and schools agree to pursue the goals of Vision 2015, with student success as the first priority. They are the "early adopters" of many Vision 2015 recommendations, demonstrating the potential of these practices in Delaware classrooms and district offices.
Focus on Student Achievement
Network schools will focus first on improvement in two critical areas: leadership and instruction. Vision Network partners will train participants to use student data rigorously to drive instructional decisions and provide support that meets each student's individual needs. Leaders also will receive coaching as they implement national and international best practices in their local districts and schools.
Choosing to Improve
Participation in the Vision Network is voluntary. Interested schools attended information sessions in summer 2007 and completed comprehensive readiness assessments. The first group of Network participants was formed based on a variety of factors including:
Schools as Leaders
Vision Network districts and schools will continue to be led by their own superintendents and principals, who have chosen to support the Network's goals and recommendations with a focus on improving student achievement. Support and training for these leaders is provided by Vision Network training partners and is coordinated by Vision Network staff, who report to the Vision 2015 Implementation Team. Robert W. Rescigno is the Vision Network Liaison and primary contact.
Committed Funders and Training Partners
Work of the Vision Network is supported by generous funding and support from the Delaware Business Roundtable, the Rodel Foundation of Delaware, the University of Delaware, the Delaware's Department of Education, and The Wallace Foundation.
