"I look forward to the 2015 project attracting highly effective people to the career of education."

As I read and discuss the future of Vision 2015 with my colleagues, I feel that starting from a systemic approach, as Vision 2015 purports, can be the only approach if we really want something that is better than the rest. Systemic problems in education do not seem to be one person's fault, but how do we, as a community, come together to fix them?

Being a teacher, I feel that by researching different approaches of best practices in public education world-wide, Delaware can benefit by using those approaches in creating a system that is not only state-of-the-art but extremely effective in raising student achievement to a level that is competitive in the global market.

Noticing the benefits that would be helpful to educators and administrators, I look forward to the 2015 project attracting highly effective people to the career of education. When the salaries of all teachers are level across the state, when professional development is a high priority for education, and when building a community of stakeholders with parents, businesses, and social and health-related agencies is an obligatory bonding agent, we as teachers will be more able to teach and aid our students in issues surrounding education and their personal lives.

I keep the words of Mahatma Gandhi in my heart, 'You must be the change you wish to see in this world.' I, as a teacher, mother, tax payer, and student am ready and look forward to doing the work that makes the changes materialize.
